Yeah, we got hit by a tornado. Just the other night I was watching a special on the Discovery channel about tornadoes. With my newly found expertise on tornadoes, I'd expect we were hit by an F2 (when trees start to get uprooted). Ryan from TwinSix drove by my house and gave me a call and said "Dude, it looks like a bomb went off near your house." I left work and was greeted by the following damage. Portland Ave lost all it's trees for a 2-3 block stretch. Most houses are missing some shingles or doors, and a few caught some falling trees. Our house is the only one with a pile of rubble in front of it from what I've seen.
Our neighbor, George, is a contractor, and since I'm not skilled with steep angled roofs, especially when they're wet, he threw up a tarp on the major damage, and actually put new shingles in place on the smaller spot with the single package of shingles I had in the garage.
The most depressing part is that part of our fence is across the street and in the neighbors back yard, and other parts are bent in and need repair. We JUST finished painting the fence 2 weeks ago, and built it ourselves. It's disheartening to see nearly 6 weekends of work from last summer get completely destroyed.
Really? I might have been in a storm? Thanks buddy, I wasn't aware of that.
